The elasticity of the outer ring of the mold should be calibrated once a year. When calibrating elasticity, after applying a force of 1000g ± 1g on the mold, the distance between the two measuring steel balls should increase by 2mm ± 0.3mm without permanent deformation.

The load should be applied in a direction perpendicular to the gap (90 °) to avoid experimental errors. The experiment should be repeated at least three times to obtain the average value under the condition of a standard deviation of 0.05mm..
